1904 Under the name Deutsche Kugellagerfabrik (DKF), our company has developed and manufactured high quality rolling bearings in Leipzig-Plagwitz since the beginning of the 20th century. 1934 30 years later, the company is changed to a limited liability company and moves to its present location in Böhlitz-Ehrenberg, which belongs to the city of Leipzig. Shortly after taking up production in the new halls, DKF receives an order from Deutsche Lufthansa to equip all its aircraft diesel engines with high quality DKF rolling bearings. The core business – development and production of radial and thrust bearings, four point bearings and special bearings – as well as Deutsche Lufthansa’s great demand for DKF rolling bearings increase the production volume and safeguard up to 1500 jobs. The forties As a result of political developments in the mid-forties, the DKF affairs are handled by a Russian management for a total of 10 years. 1955 DKF becomes VEB DKF Wälzlagerwerk Leipzig and thus state-owned property of the then German Democratic Republic. In the following 45 years, its first class rolling bearing products gain an excellent reputation at an international level and are ordered by customers all over the world. 1990 After the reunification of Germany, VEB DKF Wälzlagerwerk Leipzig becomes a company of the FAG Group. 1993 In 1993, Kugel- und Rollenlagerwerk Leipzig GmbH is founded. On a production area of almost 14,000 m², high quality rolling bearings are manufactured under the brand name “KRW – Made in Germany“. 2010 With more than 100 years of experience and a constant growth in sales over the past 10 years, KRW Leipzig GmbH has established itself as an esteemed brand in the development, manufacture and marketing of rolling bearing products. The product portfolio offers a large variety of bearing types for many industries – heavy industry, rail & transportation, energy & power plants, machine construction as well as shipbuilding & port technology. |
