Cooper is an international company that holds a leading position in the development and manufacturing of split bearings. All of our products are manufactured in England in accordance with the highest technical standards, as confirmed by ISO 9001 certification, which demonstrates the quality and reliability of our products and processes. We have also recently been awarded the ISO 14001 environmental standard, reflecting our commitment to reducing our environmental impact. Additionally, we are registered with Lloyd’s and BSI.

History: Founded in 1894 by Thomas Cooper — a prolific inventor and brilliant engineer — in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, where the company is still based today. Thomas Cooper's first major invention was a revolutionary steam excavator for agricultural use. During World War I (1914–1918), he developed and manufactured the first small aircraft bombs of this type. Thomas Cooper held numerous patents, more than any other person in the country at that time. After his death, throughout the second half of the 20th century, the company focused on the innovative split bearing he developed in 1907, which quickly became the world's leading split bearing.

For decades, Cooper has maintained a family-oriented ethos: employees have an average tenure of 22 years. This level of dedication and commitment is also reflected in our work with your business.

Research and Development: In 1991, Kaydon became the parent company of Cooper. Respecting Cooper’s culture, Kaydon invests significantly in cutting-edge technologies necessary to keep Cooper ahead of the curve, recognizing that ongoing research and development are essential to maintaining our market leadership position.

360-Degree Service: Over a century of innovation in precision manufacturing means we do more than just develop and produce top-quality, high-performance, and cost-effective bearings. We also possess extensive experience that we share with our clients, providing comprehensive support—from product selection and installation to training, maintenance, and repair. Trust Cooper to deliver world-class technical support at every stage.

A Smart Business Choice: What makes Cooper’s split bearings a smart choice for engineers and businesses is their flexibility compared to solid bearings. Split bearings are easier to install and more accessible for maintenance after installation, which simplifies equipment servicing and reduces costs. Consequently, downtime and profit losses are significantly minimized.
