NSK was founded in 1916 and became the first Japanese company to start manufacturing ball bearings. In the early stages of its development, it was engaged in the design and production of automotive parts, high-precision equipment and its components, as well as mechatronic products. However, the company's main focus has always been on developing bearing production using advanced high-precision technologies. As a result, NSK significantly increased its manufacturing capacity and now produces numerous types of premium-grade bearings.

The company develops and manufactures both standard and specialized bearings for various industrial applications, including agriculture, cement production, railway transportation, the food industry, ventilation and air blowers, wind energy, paper manufacturing, ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, and petrochemical industries.

Today, NSK bearings are supplied to customers worldwide. The company began exporting its products in the 1960s, and currently has offices in 25 countries and over 30 overseas factories. NSK is now the leading bearing manufacturer in Japan and the second-largest bearing producer worldwide.
