“Vazovski Mashinostroitelni Zavodi” (VMZ) in the town of Sopot was inaugurated by Bulgarian Tsar Boris III in 1936.
“VMZ” EAD is the largest state-owned enterprise in Bulgaria’s military-industrial complex, with more than 80 years of history. It is a leader in the production of various caliber ammunitions and is the only manufacturer in the world producing some of them. In the past two years, the company’s turnover has exceeded 500 million euros, while profit before taxes reached 180 million euros.
Thanks to the intellectual potential of its engineering staff and the high qualifications of its executive personnel, advanced technologies have been implemented in production, product performance characteristics have been improved, and while some items have already been accepted into service by the Bulgarian Army, others are in the process of being adopted.
