Our Mission
Bigham designs, manufactures, and markets a wide range of agricultural tillage, cultivating, and harvest equipment, helping farmers achieve maximum crop production while conserving valuable resources. In the U.S., our products are distributed through our dealer network, and internationally through partnerships with other firms. We serve producers from two locations: Lubbock, Texas, and Carlisle, Arkansas.
Our History
Bigham Brothers, Inc.
Bigham Brothers has a rich history marked by diverse products and milestones. Founded in 1933 by H.V. Bigham in Roaring Springs, Texas, as H.V. Bigham Welding, the company initially produced café stools and tables for soda fountains. In the late 1930s, operations moved to Lubbock. In 1967, the company name changed to Bigham Brothers Manufacturing, Inc., reflecting a new focus on agricultural implements. Among its early innovations was the “R & J” line, developed by Ross Montgomery and Jack Brogden, featuring the iconic “Crustbuster” (later “Crustivator”) designed for furrow-planted crops. Other tools included rod weeders, cultipackers, and custom-built equipment. The May 1970 Lubbock tornado destroyed the facility on North Avenue H, prompting a move to Globe Avenue. In 1988, the company became Bigham Brothers, Inc.
Pitonyak Machinery Corporation
PMC traces its roots to 1913, when E.E. Brandt opened his workshop in Carlisle, Arkansas, to meet local farmers’ needs. In 1947, he introduced the predecessor to today’s GCX grain cart line. His son, John Henry, carried on the legacy, and in 2002 the company became Pitonyak Machinery Corporation. PMC introduced new and improved products while expanding its customer base.
Bigham Ag Equipment
In 2013, these two legacies merged, creating a stronger, more complete supplier of modern farm tools—from post-harvest to new harvest.
