Rockford Ball Screw (RBS) was founded in 1973 by Ian McBain with a clear goal: deliver quality products on time and at a competitive price. Starting as a family shop in the McBain home basement, the company grew into a market leader in ball screws.

Since 2006, Linda McGary (McBain) has served as president. In 2009, RBS expanded its portfolio by adding linear guide rails and blocks. The Rockford Linear Motion line complemented the range with another high‑performance linear motion solution—offered with extremely short lead times, making it a perfect fit for RBS customers.
