Midway Industries | Centerforce is the leading U.S. manufacturer of high‑performance clutch and pressure plate systems. Our story began in the early 1980s, when legendary hot rodder, Hays Clutches founder, and SEMA Hall of Fame member Bill Hays set out to fix the shortcomings of existing designs and create a competition‑ready clutch compatible with non‑asbestos friction materials. His breakthrough—the patented Centerforce Weighted Clutch System—uses weights and centrifugal force to increase clamp load while keeping pedal effort light and eliminating diaphragm “over‑center” issues. In 1982, the Hays family founded Midway Industries, Inc. to meet growing demand for Centerforce products. Since then, we’ve continued to invest in technology, R&D, and quality control, expanding our lineup and maintaining leadership. Innovation and product lines

Growth and manufacturing We started as a small speed shop in Midway City, California, then built a state‑of‑the‑art, 48,000‑sq‑ft facility in Prescott, Arizona. The move was nearly seamless—with over 90% of the team relocating. Today, we are a three‑generation family business, with engineering and manufacturing exclusively in Prescott, and global reach—from OEM to custom builds. Why Centerforce When reliability, longevity, and predictable control are non‑negotiable, drivers choose Centerforce. Combining innovation with craftsmanship, we remain the performance enthusiast’s first choice. |
