In the late 1950s, on the fertile Oxnard Plain in California, Mel Wiggins envisioned a machine that would increase the efficiency of agricultural companies and their workers. His innovation, customer focus, and commitment to quality brought the idea to life — and Wiggins Lift Company was born. Later, Wiggins applied the same principles to the construction industry. Within a few decades, the company expanded into new areas and became a global supplier of high-capacity material-handling machines.

Today, Wiggins Lift designs and manufactures some of the world’s most unique material-handling equipment for the most challenging environments. The company is a global leader in boat-handling solutions for dry-stack marina storage. It also produces military equipment capable of full operation in heavy seas aboard U.S. Navy Littoral Combat Ships, as well as specialized machines for mining, construction, material-handling, and agriculture. Clients include government agencies such as the Atomic Energy of Canada and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Wiggins also manufactures and repairs hydraulic cylinders for a wide range of applications, including massive lighting towers for the entertainment industry.

Led by CEO Michele Wiggins-McDowell (the founder’s granddaughter), the company maintains a strong reputation for robust and exceptional machines.
