The STEINEL brand is a German family-owned company that is rich in tradition and can look back on more than 80 years of success with its high-quality products.
It was back in 1925 that 38-year-old Bernhard Steinel took the plunge to become self-employed and founded Bernhard Steinel Werkzeugmaschinenfabrik GmbH+Co. KG. Three years later the first STEINEL multi-spindle drill, built in his living room in the town of Schwenningen, was ready for series production.
This development saw the company founder set the course for the future. The STEINEL engineering works grew rapidly, and not only in terms of its workforce and product range.
Even back in the early days, STEINEL's reputation as a synonym for quality extended well beyond the confines of Schwenningen, even transcending national borders.
STEINEL's objective with regard to standardised parts was to offer "everything from a single source". This ambitious goal was soon achieved, allowing new challenges and objectives to come to the fore.
